PodgyPanda’s 2011 in review!
I realise we’re nearly hitting February (eep) but i figured i’d slip in a 2011 year in review! (here’s the 2010 recap incase you wanted a trip down memory lane :D)
The biggest highlight for 2011 was my big move to the other side of the world to London!

I found myself privileged to teach a graphic design class for 3 months in NZ at the beginning of the year, definitely a humbling experience, and one of those “tick off life’s to do list” :) There’s no way to describe being able to connect with students and knowing you’ve made a difference in the way they approach design and illustration!

My class notes, heh!
I also ventured out to San Diego Comic Con again, I didn’t have anything to show or any signings but it was great to see Toy Fam new and old again :) My goal is to definitely work towards basing myself in the states. Here are a few snaps from SDCC:
ToyFam shirts, modeled by Mr Jsmallz (smallandround), Angieface and I (Thanks Dragatomi for making these ToyFam shirts! <3)

Being surrounded by so much talent and love for a week during con is pretty much the best feeling ever <3
Art-wise i’ve tried to step back from digital and custom work to focus on improving my pencil drawing :) here are a sample of sketchwork i’ve done this year:
“cats cats cats”
“finn finn finn, adventure time!”
“kittens”
“Jasper and Olive”
“Pandabee collab”
I also started a Daily fanart doodle project, which to date i’ve created 40 sketches (they can be viewed here :D) Here are a few of my favourites:
“wall-e and eva”
“cookie monster”
“Link and Zelda”
“Lady and the Tramp”
“The count”
“Edward”
“Jack”

“Snoopy”
Digital work

“The Red Ninja’s strike back”
“Space Race”
“In Moustache We Trust”
Customs:

“Love” and “Nurture” custom 4” Raffy’s

Here are a few other photos which highlighted my rollercoaster of a year!

Got a nifty job at Kidrobot London :)
MEETING TADO’s! <3

Meeting old and new friends! (and developing a love for cheese!)
Learning how to cook better (following in the footsteps of my grandad who was an amazing chef):

Getting my first Tattoo
And going on epic adventures with my Best Friend <3
If 2011 was anything to go by, 2012 is going to be freaking epiccc! This year’s goals is to art more, work more, and adventure like i’ve never adventure’d before :)
2012. Bring it <3
